{"id":8460,"date":"2020-07-24T12:54:40","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T10:54:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/?p=8460"},"modified":"2020-11-05T17:54:33","modified_gmt":"2020-11-05T16:54:33","slug":"reach-restrictions-on-fluorochemistry-have-your-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/reach-restrictions-on-fluorochemistry-have-your-say\/","title":{"rendered":"REACH-Restrictions on Fluorochemistry &#8211; HAVE YOUR SAY!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Cross-Sectoral Information Session on the Cascade of REACH Restrictions in Fluorochemistry: Information \u2013 Sensitization \u2013 Call for Participation<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Current regulatory acitivities within the REACH legislation on the restriction of fluorine chemistry (namely the restriction of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/themen-und-positionen\/nachhaltigkeit\/fluorchemie\/\">PFHxA and related substances<\/a><\/span>, but also the intended restriction of all PFAS in the EU) will have tremendous effects on (essential) applications of fluoropolymers and fluorinated polymers in the EU (see also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/themen-und-positionen\/nachhaltigkeit\/fluorchemie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">here<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In order to raise awareness for these important regulatory developments within industrial value chains and to inform relevant stakeholders,<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/textil-mode.de\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">t + m<\/a><\/span>),<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedwesttextil.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">S\u00fcdwesttextil<\/span><\/a>\/<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/vtb-bayern.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VTB<\/a><\/span>,<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Bavarian Chemical Industry Associations<\/span><\/a> and<\/li>\n<li>the Association of Manufacturers of Process and Performance Chemicals (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegewa.de\/?noredirect=de_DE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">TEGEWA<\/span><\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>jointly invited to a cross-sectoral information session on the cascade of REACH restrictions in fluorochemistry on 23 July 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8466 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/07\/foto_internet-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"469\" height=\"352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/foto_internet-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/foto_internet-1024x767.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/foto_internet-200x150.png 200w, https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/foto_internet-768x575.png 768w, https:\/\/www.bayerische-chemieverbaende.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/foto_internet.png 1182w\" sizes=\"(max-width:767px) 469px, 469px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Round about 150 participants from different industry sectors all over Europe, federal and local authorities as well as other interested stakeholders followed the online information session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Espescially Downstream Users Have to Take Action: Have your Say in the Ongoing Consultation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Espescially downstream users of fluorinated polymers and fluoropolymers have to take action now: Due to the recent restriction approaches a total ban for the use of these imortant materials may soon be implemented, only leaving a few exemptions for specific use cases. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that downstream users actively get involved in the ongoning consultations on European level and communicate their essential use cases (if not already covered by a derogation) as well as the possible socio-economic impacts. Otherwise there is a great danger that important high-tech applications may soon not be possible in the EU anymore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Event Documentation is Available<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For all those who couldn\u2019t follow the online meeting directly, an event documentation is available.
